1pm Arrival
Clare Church, St Peter & St Paul's, Sudbury, CO10 8NY
Drinks from 3:15pm
The Lodge at Ickworth, Horringer, IP29 5QE
Many people will be around the Ickworth Estate on the day before the wedding, including Jake, Shannon and their families.
Suggested accommodation: The Ickworth - https://ickworthhotel.co.uk/
If not on site, we recommend staying in Bury St Edmunds, which is less than 10 minutes away from the Ickworth estate, and around 30 minutes away from Clare. This is the town Shannon grew up in (only going back to her parents in Clare to sleep). We recommend a walk around the Abbey Gardens, followed by dinner at the Pea Porridge, and then drinks at the world-famous Corn Exchange (aka... Wetherspoons). There are plenty of places to stay, including boutique independent hotels and chains such as Premier Inn and Best Western, alongside plenty of AirBnBs.
Come and say hi if you are staying locally or on site!
If you fancy some flower arranging, come and join us at the Lodge in the early afternoon. There is plenty to do on the Ickworth Estate, including some beautiful esate and garden walks, bike hire and a National Trust property and museum (bring your National Trust pass or Artpass for free entry). Let us know your plans, and we can try to co-ordinate!
We'll be having a drinks reception at The Ickworth Hotel from 8pm.
Daytime – Formal Dress (morning suit/lounge suit)
Evening – A change into Dinner Jackets and dancing dresses if you fancy
Hats and headpieces are encouraged by the Mother of the Bride. Smart sunglasses are encouraged by the Father of the Groom.
The bride, groom and wedding party will be getting ready at The Ickworth Estate and then travelling to the church.
Allow a 40 minute drive to the church from the Ickworth House venue (Shannon can do it in 20, but allow for tractors, cyclist, and Saturday traffic).
The service will be held at Clare Church, St Peter & St Paul’s, High Street, Clare, Sudbury, CO10 8NY. This is the church right in the centre of town – you can’t miss it! Please be there for 1pm.
There is very limited parking at the church, so we recommend carpooling (and suggest meeting at the reception venue beforehand). Let us know your travel plans when you RSVP, so we can try to help co-ordinate.
The closest car park to the church is the Clare Castle Country Park Trust, on Malting Lane, CO10 8NW. This is a Pay and Display car park. Allow a 10 minute walk to the church. There is additional parking down Harp Ln, CO10 8PH, off Cavendish Road. Again, allow a 10 minute walk to the church. On a sunny Saturday in Clare, parking is always busy so please allow plenty of time.
There is plenty of free parking at The Ickworth Hotel and at The Lodge.
The wedding will be held across two venues at the Ickworth Estate: The Ickworth Hotel and The Lodge at Ickworth.
Please make sure you are going to the right venue at the right time!
The Ickworth Estate is located 10 minutes outside of Bury St Edmunds, in Horringer. (Note – this is NOT Ixworth, which is a village the other side of Bury St Edmunds).
The entrance to The Ickworth Hotel is in the centre of Horringer Village, through some lovely gates. You can’t miss it.
The Ickworth Hotel is where many family and friends are staying, and it will be hosting the welcome drinks on the Friday. There is room for car parking around the front and at the side of the hotel. When you are going down the drive to the estate, it is the first road to the left. Follow signs for The Ickworth Hotel. If you get to the National Trust Car Park, you have gone too far! Please see the map for more details.

The Lodge at Ickworth is where the wedding reception will be held. The Lodge is a ten minute walk through pristine parkland from The Ickworth Hotel. The entirety of this walk is paved; however, there is no street lighting (obviously), so please make sure your phones are charged enough for torches if needed! Please see map for more details.
To drive to The Lodge, travel to the bottom of the entrance drive on the Ickworth estate, going past the signs for both the Hotel and the National Trust property. At the end of the drive, there is a T junction, with the National Trust Car Park ahead of you. Turn right at the bottom of this road. The Lodge is on the left.
Please do not park within the property itself, but instead along the road outside.

We’re very excited about this part. It’s Italian!
The meal will be family style, so you can help yourself from platters in the middle of your table! This means you won’t need to make a menu choice beforehand, but still please let us know any dietary requirements. A decent proportion of the food will be vegan and/or kosher.
The bride and groom will be supplying plenty of wine, beers, and fancy soft drinks to last you for the entire day. However, if you fancy something in particular, there will a cash bar.
The Wedding reception will finish at 11 – however, the afterparty will continue in The Lodge until….well….until the last man standing.
Please organise taxis for whenever you please – but remember it is a Saturday night so pre-booking and lift sharing is encouraged.
Here are the recommended cab companies:
A1 Cars – 01284 766 777
Angel Cars Bury St Edmunds – 07760 767 607
Uber is also available in Bury St Edmunds (we’re not THAT out in the sticks).
Truely, the best gift you can give us is your presence busting out moves on the dancefloor. However, if you would like to give us a small gift, we have a small registry consisting of money towards a few things that are very important for us (wine, a new sofa, a holiday… go figure). Thank you so much!

We are limited on numbers – and therefore the invites are only for people who are explicitly mentioned, either handwritten on the physical invite, or who are addressed by name in the email.
The vibe we are going for is ‘formal but fun’
Men should be in morning dress or a full lounge suit with tie. In the evening Jake will be getting into his new DJ; you are welcome to join him.
Women should wear formal day dresses. There are no strict limitations for the church. If you have a lovely hat, head band, or fascinator you’ve been wanting to wear – Carol (the mother of the bride) would love to see it. In the evening there will be dancing. Lots of it. Possibly the most Shannon has ever done ever. Please feel free to change into comfortable evening attire and shoes.
If the weather holds, Jonathan (the groom’s father) would love to see your smartest sunglasses – although we can’t promise he won’t analyse their suitability for your face.
We can’t wait to see you all looking beautiful!
Not to worry, email us at smclerkin@live.co.uk.
Please fill out this form for each guest mentioned on your invite, no later than 27th July 2025.
